Tiny Tina and Cindy

I have not been on my blog site in a long time. So there is much to catch up on.
In march 2015, I met a wonderful Shearer by the name of Aron. Aron came to me by way of a mutual friend in the sheep world. The first season of shearing held 8 sheep and gave me six bags of wool.
Some of you may be asking, what do I plan to do with my wool?   I am not sure yet, but  I have cleaned my wool, but have not carded it yet. I would like to take a Needle Felting Class sometime in 2016, but that is for another blog.

My first lambing season took place during the spring of 2015 as well. I had bred three of my ewes and ended up with 5 new lambs. Three ewe lambs and two ram lambs. It was a wonderful surprise when my last set of twins were born on  Mother's Day. I quickly learned how to snip the cords and dip them in iodine and strip the mothers teets. Oh how funny that was!!!  I learned how to put jugs together and keep track of their shots and food. It has been a wonderful experience! I even learned how to give vaccines while being mentored.

As I go along with my blog session, My sheep friend Karen, asked me if I would like to raise some bottle babies. I said, I would love to. So you may be asking at this point, how many sheep does Cindy have now? I have 16 and have bred all of my ewes this year. So potentially I could have 12 lambs if all goes well in the spring.

My next blog will be about some of the painful things that occurred during 2015 with my sheep, and about the dreaded parasite Barber Poll worm. Till then I hope all is well with those who are also in the sheep world.

Peace
